The third coordination meeting discussion on the arrangement to establish movie studio, movie related training school and development of film industry took place in Yangon, Monday.
At the meeting, Union Minster for Information Dr. Pe Myint spoke out cooperation with relevant ministries for the development of film industry, to obtain the suggestions from the film industry, create business plan for investment and catch up international standard. Director General of MRTV invited to use large studio, virtual studio and audio recording accessories and studio of MRTV and discussed by laying down short and long term plans for the development of film industry. Director General of Information and Public Relation Department, U Ye Naing highlighted that the works to establish movie studio and training school in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw.
The representatives from art related industries also took part in the discussion and gave necessary suggestions and welcomed the encouragement of the government for the film industry.
Chairman, Myanmar Theatrical Association, Phoe Chit said "The information ministry is conducting as a focal ministry for the film industry development. The basic need for film industry is studio, training school and cinemas. The State Counsellor instructed to build Art zone to show the public including the dramatic art, theatrical show, dramatic villages. We have no international standard theater in Myanmar. So, we should establish international standard film studio and theater."
The film industry can earn the income of foreign currency for the country. So, by providing for the development of film industry, the development of the country can be contributed.
CEO, Paradiso Cinemas, Tin Maung Win said "It is needed large studio, training school and technology for the film industry development. The government should reduce taxation and tariff and provide to establish the movie related training and indoor & outdoor studios, setting studio as well as nurturing for the new generation."
The Myanmar film industry development is needed a master plan to gain a firm standing in 2030 in ASEAN region and accelerate progress on UN MDGs 2050.
