Polish fighter Artur Saladiak secured light middleweight golden belt after knocking out local fighter Saw Ba Oo in their lethwei light middleweight world championship on Saturday night at the Wunna Theikdi stadium, Nay Pyi Taw.
The Polish fighter became the second world champion of WLC (world lethwei championship) while Myanmar’s Too Too has held world middleweight champion of WLC.
In this championships’ bout, Saladiak could create his best show in front of nearly 4000 Myanmar spectators and he defeated Saw Ba Oo in the first minute of fourth round.
In the first and second rounds, Saw Ba Oo set the pace using punches and kicks while Saladiak relied on counter attacks. But during rounds three and four, Saladiak dominated the fight. His double punches and powerful kicks were painful to Saw Ba Oo.
A powerful high kick of Saladiak’s knocked out Saw Ba Oo in the first minute of fourth round.
“I’ve already promised to get knockout victory, before the fight. That’s what I did. I’m so happy to become a lethwei world champion,” Saladiak told the media after the fight.
Artur Saladiak, 27, has already been champion in Muaythai light middleweight, now he added Myanmar traditional lethwei belt on his shoulder.
In another bout, Kyaw Zin Latt defeated Saw Da Wait on points in the light welterweight national championship.
