Stolen motorbike with GPS tracker recovered from thief

A STOLEN motorcycle equipped with a GPS device was recovered from a thief within an hour, said Nay Yu Maung, a Police Inspector from Shwebo Police Station.
        A Shwebo resident identified as U Nanda informed the police that his motorcycle which is installed with a GPS system and manufactured in Thailand was stolen early this morning. According to the motorcycle owner, the GPS data showed the motorbike was spotted near Min Kyaung Village in Shwebo Township.
        The police together with the motorbike owner and eye witnesses followed the suspect based on the data they got from the motorcycle’s GPS device. They found an unidentified man along with a motorcycle and one mobile phone near a rest house beside the Shwebo-Kyaukmyaung Road and arrested him on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle.
        The man named Lin Htet Aung (alias) Min Htet Aung, 17 years of age from Singu Township; Mandalay Region confessed that he had stolen the motorbike and mobile phone from a junction near the Correctional Department in Shwebo. Action is being taken against the motorbike thief in accordance with the law by the local police department.
