Low pressure area makes more rain in Myanmar: DMH

A low pressure area is occurred in northwest of Bay of Bengal and more rains are expected in Rakhine and Chin states, Sagaing, Mandalay, and Magway regions, said Meteorologist Chit Kyaw.
        “The low pressure area may intensify into a depression and is likely to enter India or the border of India and Bangladesh. It will pose no immediate danger to Myanmar. It will make more rain and floods may be occurred in Hintada and Zalun. Locals from Chin State need to be careful of landslides,” he said.
        A low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal, according to Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).
        “Floods usually occurred in this month annually. People are not noticed about it. The flooding may occur in Ayeyawady and Bago regions. Mawlamyaing cannot be faced flood this time. More rain is not expected in Mon State in mid-rainy season. Rakhine coast, delta areas, Kachin, Shan and Chin states and Sagaing region will have heavy rain,” he said.
        Two low pressure areas may occur in Bay of Bengal in August and one may be intensified into a depression, according to the DMH.
        Rains or thunders will be scattered in Kachin State and widespread in the remaining regions and states with isolated heavy falls in lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon, anad Ayeyawady regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon states. Degree of certainty is 100%.
