Tatmadaw Development Affairs Committee has sent a letter to Mya Yeik Nyo Hotel on March 12, stating that Zaygabar Company will be sued if ongoing construction tasks are not removed from the compound of Tatmadaw-owned Mya Yeik Nyo Hotel not later than on March 26.
“Zaygabar Company must remove its ongoing construction tasks not later than on March 26,” said Moe Min Win, Secretary of Tatmadaw DAC. The letter said Tatmadaw-owned Mya Yeik Nyo Hotel covers an area of 13. 794 acres and it has allowed the Office of Quartermaster General and Zaygabar Company to do hotel business according to MOA contract. The company failed to sign the BOT contract. During this period, the company failed to pay the State the revenues for making in use of the land. Ancient structures were also abolished of its own without seeking approvals from the land owner. Now the company is making land preparation tasks after cutting down age-old trees. The company has been found violating the rules of MOA agreement. For that reason, Tatmadaw DAC sent the letter attached on November 12 in 2018 to Zaygabar Company, stating that ongoing construction tasks must be removed from the compound of the hotel not later than on March 26.
The contract signed by the Office of Quartermaster General and Zaygabar Company has now expired. But the company has continued performing its construction tasks in the compound of the hotel without seeking permission from Tatmadaw DAC. It breached of the Section 64 of Tatmadaw DAC Law. For that reason, the company must remove its all tasks and materials not later than on March 26.
