Thousands of activists gathered in front of Mahabandoola Park in Yangon on December 1, to show their support for Myanmar State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who will lead the team to defend the case filed at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) by Gambia.
U Aye Myint, an organizer said: “We are really satisfied with the efforts made by the State Counsellor to defend the case filed by Gambia. We want to show the entire people should support and welcome it. That’s why, I would like to urge the entire people to stand by Myanmar State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. The most satisfying point is Mother Suu will solve the problem which threatens the country’s dignity and interest. Every citizen have a duty to support and welcome the public leader impressed by the globe.”
The activists chanted “We stand with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.”
Also present at the event were Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein and Yangon Region Parliament Speaker U Tin Maung Tun.
