The organisers say the event will allow foreigner participants as well as Myanmar bodybuilding and physique athletes. Registration for the event is free for all competitors.
“It will be the second time holding the event and we hope that our competition will be magnificent for the spectators and contestants alike. The cost of organising the event will be about K6 million,” said U Yar Zar Than Nyunt, founder and CEO of Fitwhey Co Ltd (Myanmar).
The tournament will have three categories for men and women: body building, men’s model physique, and women’s bikini model.
The men’s body building and model physique will include senior and junior categories while the women’s bikini model will have only one category. The prizes for all categories are the same, with the champions receiving US$750 (K1.1 million), runners up US$500, third place US$300, fourth place US$200 and fifth US$100.
According to U Yar Zar Than Nyunt, more than 100 contestants have so far registered to take part in the event.
He added that foreign judges will be participating in the event.
The VX Classic Grand Bodybuilding Tournament was first held in Myanmar Plaza in Yangon in 2017.
